"When was the last time you had an outstanding workout experience that was body-transforming, fun, inspirational and motivating?"
"The Thai Kickboxing program at Stryker Martial Arts is one that is guaranteed to melt bodyfat and shed unwanted pounds all while you are smiling, sweating and learning!"
What is Thai Kickboxing?
There are two parts. First...
It is a martial arts / fitness program that is specifically designed to get you in GREAT shape.
A typical class is made of 15 minutes of shadow boxing - where you are punching and kicking in the air. This portion of the class is meant to get you warmed up, raise your body temperature 2 degrees and lubricate your joints.
After that, we have 5 minutes of stretching.
And then your real workout begins... After getting all warmed up and stretched out, you are ready for 20 minutes of intense bag work. Stress Relieving, Calorie Burning bag work. We teach you the right way to safely and effectively punch and kick so you can take all your frustrations out on the bag while getting a phenomenal workout!
The second part...
is that we want to teach you HOW to throw the punches and kicks THE RIGHT WAY. This is so that you don't hurt yourself in training but also so that if you needed to kick someone's butt, you could.
Students tell us that because they are learning the correct technique for punching and kicking plus a great workout, it is why they keep coming back for more! Ultimately, it is what makes the difference between our program and EVERYONE else's...
Top 5 Benefits of our Thai kickboxing program:
- A workout that burns over 800 Calories per class - Consistently
- Ultra convenient schedule - Over 15 Kickboxing classes per week
- 100 other adults here to support you towards your goals
- Clean, modern facility where your safety is paramount - no on ever gets hit, kicked, or thrown to the ground
- Professionally trained martial artists here to train you - not someone who went and got a weekend certification.
Who takes Thai Kickboxing?
We have over 100 students taking our Thai Kickboxing program.
95% of them are women between the ages of 25 and 55.
Do I need to be in shape to take this class?
Absolutely not. This is what the class is meant for and we have people of all different skill levels and fitness levels.
Am I going to be made to feel foolish?
Not by us. Assuming you have never taken martial arts before, you will feel a little awkward. It would be the same as if you did ballroom dancing for the first time or swung a golf club for the first time.
Don't worry though, we are expecting this and will make it as easy as possible.
How much is it?
Its $149 per month and we have a 6 month beginner course. Many people attempt to determine how much we charge "per class". This is a mistake. We don't sell martial arts classes. No. We sell much more than that. Many people attempt to compare our program with others. This is another mistake. Our program is unique and why we have one of the longest standing martial arts schools is Fairfield - over 16 years. What do we sell?
Can I try a class for free?
Definitely, simply send us an email at StrykerMartialArts@gmail.com and we will be happy to set up a time for you to come in!
Here is what other people are saying:
"Maybe you know the type of person I used to be. I had the terminally-wasted gym membership. I would throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars every year, for one gym membership or another and I would barely go. Ever. I was so discouraged, convinced I would never find a form of regular exercise I could do, rain or shine, snow or sun, that I actually enjoyed. Then a friend told me about her exciting new workout program, kickboxing at Stryker Martial Arts. That was nearly 3 years ago, and I love it…I am hooked. I never need to talk myself into going, I look forward to it! In the process, I’ve lost my last 10 pounds of “baby weight” and have never felt more fit. Plus, I feel like I could kick some butt if I ever needed to! I don’t mean to sound melodramatic, but it has changed my life. Truly." ~ Paula Cocozza
“I have been training at Stryker Martial Arts for 6 years. I had just given birth to my third child and I was having trouble losing my pregnancy weight and motivating myself. I started taking kickboxing classes as a way to switch up my training routine. I planned on continuing to exercise on my own in addition to taking the classes. After a couple weeks of classes I realized what a great workout I was getting from the classes and there was not a need for me to do any additional exercise outside the class. I am in better shape than I was when I competed for a division I, nationally ranked college swim team (where I exercised on average of 25 hours a week). I find working together with other people extremely motivating and fun. The staff at Stryker is professional and knowledgeable about the martial arts as well as exercise and conditioning. The classes are different each week, which keeps me focused and engaged. The staff has the ability to run an effective class for students of different abilities. There are black belts in class with beginners, and both students are able to get a great workout. As you move up through the rankings of belts, there are additional classes that are offered in self defense. These classes do not just focus on the physical part. I have learned communication and goal setting skills that are applicable to my everyday life.” ~ Karin Keith
“I’ve always enjoyed working out, and from an early age I became heavily involved in various sports and activities. After seeing the fun my son was having in the karate program at Stryker Martial Arts, I decided that it was time to break my monotonous relationship with the gym, and give kickboxing a shot. I expected to like it; I wasn’t prepared to have it change my life. Being a shy person, I was initially intimidated by the idea of working out in a group – but these fears were extinguished as soon as I stepped onto the mat with a group of energetic, supportive SMA members. Despite working out regularly my entire life, no previous activity compared to the energy and enthusiasm I felt following that first class. Once the gloves came off, the sweat dried, and my pulse died down, I knew I was hooked. The staff at SMA is a constant source of knowledge and encouragement. They’re very in tune with members on an individual-level, and are receptive to when you’re ready for a challenge or when you can simply use a little extra support. I’ve been with Stryker Martial Arts for over a year, and I can honestly say that I’m still seeing results. Yes I have lost weight and toned up, but more importantly, through class I’ve learned that I’m able to exceed the limits that I once thought constrained my body and mind. I’ve learned that with a little perseverance, you accumulate a series of modest steps which can then translate into substantial changes in your life. I’ve learned to pat myself on the back with the same enthusiasm I use when encouraging others. And I’ve learned that every black-belt is a white-belt who didn’t quit. I look forward to achieving my black-belt as much as I look forward to traveling along the road that gets me there. Thank you Stryker Martial Arts for helping me find this passion!” ~ Kailen Pirro
Attending the kickboxing class, always feels like an adventure and I am constantly presented with a new challenge, I feel strong, healthy and with energy. It has also opened the door to many new friends. My goal at Stryker Martial Arts was to get my black belt, and now that I got that award, I have the responsibility to keep growing, to do better every day, and to show others they can do it too. I like the satisfaction of knowing that I have gotten this far. When you work hard, don’t give up, it just gets better.” ~ Macarena Kelly
| “Since I started with Stryker Martial Arts, my physical strength has improved dramatically. I have more energy, endurance, and feel healthier overall. Apart from the physical growth, my self-confidence has increased as well. I was always in the back of the room, for fear of the dreaded mirror. However, with a little nudging, I realized this fear was holding me back and I now prefer being in front of the mirror now because it pushes me to work harder and challenge myself more ever class.” ~ Darcy Defrancesco | |
| "It’s been nearly three years since I began Kickboxing at Stryker Martial Arts and even though people said that I wouldn’t last a month (that had been due to my previous track record), I find myself now proudly working toward my 2nd degree Black Belt and working out four times a week. Knowing that I value the goals that I set for myself, I work very hard. The Principles of Black Belt are words that I now live by. It’s not easy but it has been worth every moment. There was a quote read out loud at the end of class a couple of years ago and it said “Whether you think you can or think you can’t…you’re right.” What an eye-opener for me. It’s true! I no longer allow myself to say that “I can’t (even though it may seem easier). It doesn’t mean that I don’t struggle with things; it just means I find a way to move forward and upward. So as you can see by what you’ve read, it’s not just about getting into physical shape that has been great about coming here, I find myself getting into better psychological shape as well. They work hand-in-hand. I needed one to get the other. I receive that here at SMA; it comes in many different forms. I’m constantly pushing myself to do better because I’ve been given many tools that allow me that success. My success here at Stryker has rubbed off on my daughter who is also a student here. When she sees how hard I work toward a goal, it makes her want to do better also. She doesn’t just go through the motions, she wasn’t to learn and be an all-around good student. Teaching a “can do” attitude for a child is important, especially (to me) for a girl. Thanks for all the hard work you each offer us every day. It doesn’t go unnoticed; I appreciate it…a lot..” ~ Karina Gramesty | |
| “After twenty years of a successful and exciting dance career I had an accident. I was left with some cognitive and motor skill deficits that would not allow me to continue to do what I loved- It was a crushing blow. I could not imagine my life without dance and I never believed I would find anything that I could do with the same love and devotion. And then I took my first class at Stryker Martial Arts- my passion had been re-ignited. This class is more than a kickboxing program-it is an art. It brings your mind and body together as you gain strength, power and agility. A true rush! I realized that is was going to be a tough road back to what I used to be, but it was Master Dan and his staff’s inspiration and skilled teachings that kept me wanting to come back. Two years later I’ve learned to overcome obstacles, fears and set backs I never thought imaginable. I am more disciplined and focused than ever. Learning self defense techniques has given me confidence that I can asses a potentially dangerous situation and know how to react. This confidence is always kept in check by skilled mentors who use real world scenarios to emphasize the importance of keeping my wits about me, reacting properly and using proper technique. I have set a goal of becoming a black belt but have, along the way, learned that the goal is not the be-all end-all. It is the journey, and this journey has become one of pushing my limits both physically and mentally. With the help of skilled teachers, I believe that not only will I succeed at my goals, but that I will discover new ones along the way. This class has such energy and a life of its own, it beckons you to push yourself just a little more every time. It’s like having a personal trainer, a life coach and a cheer leading team – its non-stop energy. Along with the noticeable physical benefits, I have regained my self-confidence, a stronger mind and a new passion for life. Thank you for helping me fly again Master Dan!” ~ Jasmine Reeves |
